Chris
Dog: Boaz
Bo has been a life-changer for our family. He went to college with me and when I went to my job he received a nametag with "Branch Manager" on it. If I do not respond to an alert he gets the attention of someone else.
Every graduate represents a family whose life has been transformed by a Lone Star Diabetic Alert Dog. We are proud of each team we have trained.
Since 2012, we have placed over 60 life-saving diabetic alert dogs with handlers across Tennessee and beyond. Each dog is trained to detect dangerous blood sugar changes — giving handlers and their families greater independence, safety, and peace of mind. These are just a few of their stories:

Dog: Boaz
Bo has been a life-changer for our family. He went to college with me and when I went to my job he received a nametag with "Branch Manager" on it. If I do not respond to an alert he gets the attention of someone else.
Ashley
Dog: Nova
Nova has given me back my confidence. She has been through school, my wedding, and babies with me. I feel I can take on the world because Nova is always by my side.
Judy
Dog: Java
I had been living in fear of being alone living with diabetes. Java changed everything. She has alerted me dozens of times and I trust her completely. I can't imagine life without her.
Matt
Dog: Cole
Cole has been my partner for many years now. He alerts me before I even feel a low coming on. My A1C has improved and my doctor is amazed at the difference a well-trained DAD can make.
Dominique
Dog: Bo
As a teenager managing Type 1, I felt like diabetes controlled my life. I love the outdoors — mostly new hiking adventures. With Bo by my side, I can confidently take on the world.
Michelle
Dog: Quest
The training process was thorough and the support from Lone Star has been incredible. Quest is truly a member of our family now and my A1C has never been better!
